Terms of participation
These terms govern participation in classes at Studio Zwölf GbR, Mallinckrodtstraße 12, 44145 Dortmund, and the rental of the hall. They apply in the version current at the time of the class.

§ 1 Scope and formation of contract
A contract for a single class is formed at the door when you pay for that class and are checked in by the desk. There is no membership, no subscription, no class card and no online booking; nothing on this website constitutes a reservation or an offer capable of acceptance. Displayed numbers of free places are for information only and do not entitle you to a place.
§ 2 Prices and payment
Every class costs €9.00 regardless of style, level, teacher or day. Kids Street for ages 8 to 13 costs €7.00. The first class a person ever attends at Studio Zwölf is free of charge, once per person. Payment is made at the desk before the class in cash or by debit or credit card. All prices are gross prices; the statutory VAT rate applicable to dance instruction is included.
§ 3 Capacity
The shop floor holds forty participants, the cold store eighteen. When a class reaches capacity the desk closes it and no further participants are admitted, irrespective of any prior enquiry. Admission is in the order in which people arrive at the desk.
§ 4 Cancellation by the studio
We may cancel a class if the teacher is ill, if fewer than three participants are present, or for technical reasons affecting the building. If you have already paid for a cancelled class the fee is refunded in full at the desk on the same evening or, at your choice, credited against your next class. Further claims are excluded unless we acted intentionally or with gross negligence.
§ 5 Participation, health and liability
Participation is at your own risk. You confirm that you are in a state of health that permits physical exertion; if in doubt consult a doctor first. Follow the instructions of the teacher and of the desk. We are liable without limitation for injury to life, body and health and under the Product Liability Act, and otherwise only for intent and gross negligence; in the case of slightly negligent breach of a material contractual obligation our liability is limited to the foreseeable damage typical of this kind of contract. Personal belongings are brought into the hall at your own risk; lockers are not supervised.
§ 6 House rules
Clean indoor shoes are required on the sprung floor. Filming or photographing other participants requires their agreement. We may exclude anyone from a class without refund for racist, sexist, homophobic or violent behaviour, or for participation under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
§ 7 Minors
Kids Street is open to children aged 8 to 13. A parent or guardian must register the child at the desk and remain in the building for the duration of the class. From the age of 14 young people may attend the open classes on their own; up to the age of 16 a one-off written declaration by a parent or guardian is required, which we keep at the desk.
§ 8 Hall rental
The shop floor may be rented outside class times for €22.00 per hour including the sound system, by arrangement with the studio. Rental is agreed in writing or by message and is due before use. The renter is liable for damage caused during the rental period and must leave the hall in the state in which it was handed over.
§ 9 Right of withdrawal
Contracts are concluded exclusively on site at the door and never at a distance, so the statutory right of withdrawal for distance contracts does not arise. In addition, a contract for a service relating to leisure activities that provides for a specific date for its performance is excluded from the right of withdrawal under § 312g (2) no. 9 BGB.
§ 10 Final provisions
German law applies. The place of performance is Dortmund. Should any provision of these terms be or become invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions is unaffected. Amendments to these terms are announced at the desk and on this page and apply to classes attended after they take effect.
